On Economy Now And In A Fictional Future

OB has commentary on the possibilities of economic activity in a Star Trek-like future and how it would differ in an Anti-Star Trek future world.

Both scenarios employ the notion that in the future supply, of energy and material, will be unlimited. Demand, meanwhile will be an afterthought since there will be no accounting for use because supply will also be free of charge. Which brings to mind one of my dreams; that being a source of energy which is portable, free, and completely uncontrollable by government will be found and the amazingly simple production of the producer of this infinite and costless power will be shared with everyone for nothing.
